Sustainability Initiatives & Responsible Tourism
In the Maldives, The Residence has installed an array of green measures to safeguard the environment, reduce emissions and minimise waste. A water bottling plant helps to replace plastic bottles with eco-friendly glass alternatives. By reducing the pollution of plastics, the resort also works to protect the local marine life and their habitats. On top of this, classic plastic straws are replaced with paper straws and take away food containers with appropriate aluminium boxes. Dhigurah is a beautiful island in the Maldives, so the resort aims to implement as many small but significant measures to limit the impact of emissions – with the view to make a big difference.
