About me

My career in travel began in 1994. For me, travel is about embracing different cultures and other ways of life, and I remain as fascinated and passionate about it as ever. I now love seeing these destinations through my daughter’s eyes and have a whole new perspective on what it’s like to travel as a family with children.

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel around the world and experience some of our incredible destinations – not to mention experiencing 80 of the luxury hotels within our portfolio. This has given me the fantastic opportunity to share my knowledge and experiences with clients.

My travel specialism

Caribbean is one of the destinations I specialise in. I’m very lucky to have visited the following islands (some of them 2 – 3 times!); Antigua, Turks and Caicos, Bermuda, Anguilla, St Barths, British Virgin Islands, St Maarten, Barbados, Grenada, Mexico, St Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, Jamaica, Dominican Republic.

My specialities also lie in the vibrant countries of Europe. After living in Spain for nearly four years when I was younger, and having travelled to Italy, Greece, Cyprus, and France, I have well-rounded knowledge.

I have also explored Middle East, Canada, various states in America, and Venezuela.

My most memorable travel experience

Taking a helicopter ride over the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia to spot the rare white bear has got to be one of my most memorable experiences.

I would also say visiting Jumby Bay is another highlight of my travel experiences. I recently stayed on the 300 acres private-island, elevated by the no-car policy that added to the chilled atmosphere. During my exploring, I encountered the White Egret and Blue Pelican Black-headed Persian Sheep, discovered thousands of exotic flowers, plants, and trees and watched the nesting hawksbill turtle on the beaches. Sitting with my feet in the sand at a beach barbecue and hearing the steel drums playing the Caribbean music, I did not want to leave and made my trip unforgettable.

My favourite destination: Antigua

Over the last 20 years, I have travelled extensively in the Caribbean and my favourite island is Antigua. I love this island for its laid-back charm, fantastic climate, postcard-worthy scenery. Plus, there’s 366 beaches with white sands and breathtaking views that feels like paradise!

Being surrounded by ocean, the seafood is incredibly fresh, and is the most delicious I’ve ever tasted! From regional classics like lobster, Mahi Mahi to flavourful conch is always on the menu.

There are many famous sights to visit including Shirley Heights, Nelson’s Dockyard that I just loved visiting, and can’t wait to go back and see.

My favourite hotel: Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel, Anguilla

My favourite hotel is definitely Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel, Anguilla. The resort is located on the iconic platinum sands of Maundays Bay, and after my unforgettable visit I can certainly see why the beach is voted one of the most stunning in the world. The view from your room is unlike any other, with sprawling white sands and turquoise water, only elevated under the orange and pink glow of the sunset and sunrise. Along with the attention to detail, the welcoming privacy of the rooms and the stunning surroundings, this has to be at the top of my list of hotels I’ve been fortunate enough to visit. Plus, the staff are incredibly professional and friendly, greeting you with a smile at every turn, and the open-air view from the Pimms restaurant was nothing short of romantic and breathtaking.

Your top tips for travellers:

Always take your time (wherever you may be in the world) to truly experience all the destination has to offer.

Eat at local restaurants because that is where the best food is!

And finally, pack light to leave plenty of room for souvenirs and memories.
