Explore the Kimberly Region’s outback on a tour to the stunning oasis of Windjana Gorge and take a refreshing dip in Tunnel Creek’s waterhole. From the remote town of Kununurra fly over the mystical bee-hive shaped Bungle Bungles in Purnululu National Park and the Argyle Diamond Mine where rare pink diamonds are extracted from ancient rocks.

Itinerary
Day 1 UK to Perth
Board Qantas’ direct service from London Heathrow to Perth, Western Australia, or you may decide to fly with one of our airline partners that offer stopovers in the Middle or Far East.
Day 2 Arrive Perth
Arrive into Perth and transfer to your Perth hotel by private car. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore the city’s attractions. Soak up the impressive city skyline views of Perth’s towering and modern skyline from Kings Park or take the train to Cottesloe Beach for a dip in the Indian Ocean.
Day 3 Pinnacles
An exciting day is ahead of you, starting with a thrilling experience of downhill sandboarding at Lancelin Sand Dunes. After lunch spend time on Lancelin’s stunning beach or take a swim before travelling on to Namburg National Park. Follow the boardwalks at the mystical Pinnacles Desert, through thousands of limestone spires formed over millions of years. During the months of August and September, the ground is carpeted with colourful wildflowers.
Day 4 Perth and Fremantle
Today we suggest taking a cruise along the Swan River to one of Western Australia’s premier wineries in the Swan Valley or hop on a train to Fremantle. Here you can potter through the Fremantle Markets and enjoy street food from one of the food trucks. Fremantle offers several attractions that include a tour of the historic Fremantle Prison or a visit to the Western Australian Maritime Museum.
Day 5 Broome
Fly to Broome, a remote beach resort in Western Australia’s Kimberley Region. Broome is renowned for its spectacular white sand Cable Beach which stretches for almost 14-miles with the inviting warm waters of the Indian Ocean lapping at the shores. Learn more of the history of Broome’s pearling industry at Pearl Luggers in the heart of Chinatown. Don’t miss the awe-inspiring sunsets from Cable Beach.

Day 6 Buccaneer Archipelago and Cape Leveque Flight
Today you will be taken on a spectacular adventure by air over the remote Buccaneer Archipelago, a group of 1,000 rocky islands, each sparsely vegetated and with secluded white sandy beaches. Land at Cape Leveque, a remote peninsula in the far north Kimberley region where you will enjoy a swim in the warm Indian Ocean. Your return flight is along the wild coast of Dampier Peninsula and Cable Beach.
Day 7 Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek 4WD Adventure
Explore the region further on a tour in to the outback and Kimberley cattle country. Search for freshwater crocodiles in the outback oasis of Windjana Gorge and indigenous bush tucker. Visit the Boab Prison Tree in Derby, a 1,500-year-old hollow Boab tree reputed to be a lockup for indigenous Australian prisoners! Take a refreshing swim in a waterhole in the fascinating Tunnel Creek Cave System.

Day 8 Kununurra
It’s a short hop by plane over to Kununurra at the eastern extremity of the Kimberley Region and close to the Northern Territory border. The area is dotted with vast lakes such as Lake Argyle and is famed for its rare pink diamonds, extracted from ancient rocks at Argyle Diamond Mine. Kununurra is also the gateway to Purnululu National Park, home to the Bungle Bungle Range.

Day 9 Bungle Bungles Flight
Take to the skies on a 2-hour flightseeing tour by fixed-wing aircraft over Purnululu National Park and the Bungle Bungles. The fascinating geological beehive-shaped towers cover an area of over 174 square miles and were largely unknown until 1982. The area has since been inscribed as a World Heritage area in 2003. Your scenic flight will also take in aerial views of Lake Argyle, the Argyle Diamond Mine and the Ord River.

Day 10 Darwin
Today you leave Western Australia for Northern Territory’s capital city of Darwin. The city is remarkably laid-back and relaxed, yet offers a mix of colourful characters, vibrant Aboriginal art, and an incredible choice of dining with a strong influence on Far-Eastern flavours due to its proximity to Asia. We suggest a stroll through Mindil Beach Sunset Market on a Thursday or Sunday evening in the dry season or set sail on a sunset cruise.
Day 11 Katherine Gorge
Pick up your rental car and enjoy a full day packed with historical landmarks, spectacular landscapes and wildlife. Visit Adelaide River War Cemetery dedicated to the men and women who lost their lives in Northern Australia during WWII. Take in the rugged landscapes of Nitmiluk National Park where you can swim in a waterhole beneath Edith Falls. Learn more of the Aboriginal rock art found throughout the park, and take a 2-hour cruise through Katherine Gorge, keeping a lookout for freshwater crocodiles!
