This magnificent journey brings you from cosmopolitan Vancouver to the idyllic mountain towns of Kamloops and Calgary, with stays in world-famous Banff and eye-popping Lake Louise. What’s more, you'll have the chance to partake in excursions to the Columbia Icefields and Yoho National Park, making this a truly unforgettable rail adventure, uncovering Canada's pristine landscapes.

Itinerary

Upon arrival in Vancouver, we have arranged for you to be collected from the airport and transferred to your Vancouver accommodation. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore this scenic city on your own.
Kamloops
This morning transfer to the station and travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer in one of the luxury Gold Leaf carriages from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. Your journey will take you through dramatic changes of scenery. On leaving Vancouver you will cross the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, this then changes to forests and winding river canyons and lofty peaks of the Cascade Mountains until to reach the desert-like environment of British Columbia’s interior. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops. Overnight in Kamloops.
Lake Louise, Alberta
Board the Rocky Mountaineer early morning for your journey Eastward to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Watch the landscape and scenery change through the picture windows from the comfort of your seat as you travel across ranch-lands, along rocky lakeshores. Your journey will take you over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels. Today’s highlights include the climb over Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon and the remarkable Spiral Tunnels as you climb higher in to the Canadian Rockies with is breath-taking glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies.
Today you will travel along one of the world’s most scenic mountain roads as you drive north to Jasper National Park on the Icefields Parkway. Highlights of today’s tour include the Athabasca Falls and Columbia Icefield. At the Columbia Icefield you will ride on Ice Explorer to the middle of Athabasca Glacier where you can alight and stand on one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle. Step out on the cliff-edge Icefield Skywalk which leads you to a glass-floor observation platform overlooking a 280 metre drop directly beneath you. Stops are made at Bow and Peyto Lakes on your return journey to Lake Louise.
This morning you can enjoy Lake Louise at your leisure, you may wish to take a guided hike around the lake shore, hire a kayak for a paddle out on the brilliant blue green waters or take a two-hour horseback ride through century old sub-alpine forest of spruce and fir trees and to the lakes edge. This afternoon you will leave Lake Louise and cross over in to British Columbia once more to visit Yoho National Park, the Spiral Tunnels and Emerald Lake. At the end of the tour you will be transferred to Banff.
Today explore Banff's key attractions on this day tour including Banff Gondola and a cruise on Lake Minnewanka.
Calgary
Enjoy a leisurely morning at your hotel and around Banff before your private transfer to Calgary.
This morning is at your leisure to explore Calgary before checking out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your homeward flight.
