Fly from UK to Cairo
Fly from the UK to Cairo. Upon arrival, take a private transfer to your luxury hotel for two nights.
Cairo
A jam-packed day of discovery awaits in Cairo. First head to the Egyptian Museum, home to 120,000 fascinating artifacts including Pharaonic art, ancient mummies, and the prized belongings of Tutankhamun. Enjoy a delicious local lunch before your next stop at the Mosque of Muhammad. Then, once sat atop the Citadel of Saladin’s Courtyard, soak in the staggering views inside and out of this magnificent building.
Cairo
Spend your next day exploring the UNESCO-listed ancient capital of Ancient Memphis. Showcasing towering pyramids, the state of Ramses II, the Alabaster Sphinx and the necropolis of Sakkara, this spot whisks you back to legendary moments in history. Fine dine at the famous Mena House before moving on to see the Great Sphinx and the Giza complex, an imposing collection of pyramids dating back to 2,589BC and 2,404BC.
Embark AmaDhalia
Check-out of your hotel in Cairo in the morning. Board your southward flight to Luxor, the New Kingdom of Upper Egypt’s capital city and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Luxor
Walk among royalty at the Valley of Queens, the resting place for more than 30 Egyptian queens and princesses. Enjoy exclusive access to Nefertari’s Tomb. Then head over to one of the world’s most famous landmarks, the Valley of the Kings, home to the remains of King Tutankhamun and other prominent figures. Conclude your historical tour with visits to the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memon. Back on board, relax on the Upper Deck or join the chef for a hands-on cooking class.
Edfu
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Horus’ Temple in Edfu, the world’s second largest temple. Wander through its incredible collection of remains, collecting intriguing details about the Greco Roman period’s religion, language and culture. Rest your mind after this educational day back aboard the ship, soaking in the Nile River’s exquisite scenery.
Aswan
Take the day to roam free across Aswan, with visits to the Temple of Iris, or a simple stroll along the River Nile. Alternatively, prebook an excursion to Abu Simbel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to the influential pharaoh, Ramses II. In the afternoon, explore the waters, ancient Egyptian-style, on a felucca, and glide over to the mesmerising Elephantine Island. Refuel with a delicious afternoon tea at Old Cataract Hotel, a renowned luxury resort overlooking the river.
Aswan
Zoom across the Nile to the Philae Temple complex on your private motorboat, home to some of the best-preserved hieroglyphs in Egypt. Then, take a trip over to Hisa Island to explore its friendly villages. Following this, cruise over to the Great Temple of Kom Ombo — a staggering structure of lofty columns adorned with ancient engravings. In the evening, join the crew on deck in your Galabeya, traditional Egyptian attire, and dance the night away to the river’s steady flow.
Luxor
Relax into a pleasant morning of gentle cruising along the River Nile from Esna to Luxor. Upon arrival, head to the Temple of Karnak, one of the largest religious houses in the world, with a glistening lake. Discover the art of papyrus making at the nearby museum, and then visit the Temple of Luxor, the handiwork of Amenhotep III, Ramses II, Tutankhamun, and other prolific pharaohs.
Qena
Discover the fascinating remnants of ancient Egypt in Qena, home to the Temple of Hathor, the Goddess of Love. Enjoy a guided tour around this mighty temple, taking as much time as you wish to soak in the phenomenal sights.
Luxor
Depart AmaDhalia in Luxor and board your flight to Cairo for a visit to the luxury Abdeen Presidential Palace. Visit various museum, including the Silver Museum, the Royal Family Museum, the Arms Museum, the Presidential Gifts Museum and the Historical Documents Museum. Following this, relish a fine dining experience in the palace before exploring some of the city’s oldest cultural touchpoints, including the Hanging Church and the Ben Ezra Synagogue.
