Full accommodation information

This intimate hideaway is tucked between the tropical vegetation of Bedarra Island in the Great Barrier Reef, encompassing just eleven villas which are strewn up the hillside for unrivalled views of the beach.

Bedarra Island Resort is easy to reach from Mission Beach, just 10km away, yet feels far away from anywhere else save for the exotic islands and coral reefs that surround it.

What’s more, staff are a breath of fresh air and the whole place feels personal. Much love has been poured into Bedarra Island Resort, which harnesses solar power and sources water from a nearby spring to help minimise its carbon footprint.

An Asian-inspired restaurant, lagoon-shaped pool, sociable lounge area and raft of activities complete the picture here in paradise. You can try stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkelling or tennis, perhaps enjoy a workout in the gym, take a picnic to a neighbouring island or hike through the island using the self-guided map.

Of course, there’s plenty of beachfront relaxation to be had too. Each of Bedarra Island Resort’s ten villas is set in its own private location, either right above the beach or hidden in the jungle further up the hill. All are bedecked with balconies and split-level or two-storey layouts; some even boast private plunge pools. It won’t take long for you to fall into island time here at Bedarra.

With only leven villas dotted across the coast and rainforest, you can be sure to enjoy a private, secluded stay at Bedarra Island Resort. All options feature either a split-level or two-storey layout, with outdoor areas for sunbathing, gazing out to sea or even cooling off in a plunge pool. The list of amenities is generous: king-size beds, bathrobes, Aveda toiletries, iPods with docking stations, espresso machines, minibars, bathtubs and 3G internet connections. What’s more, instead of air-conditioning, these villas have natural ventilation and ceiling fans, in line with Bedarra Island Resort’s commitment to sustainability.

Outside, a large sundeck comes complete with a plunge pool, daybed, outdoor shower, open-air living area and sun loungers, all looking out to sea.
Pandanus Villa

Pandanus Villa

A rainforest hideaway located just up from the beach, Pandanus overlooks the sea from its two-storey, 73sq m structure. The top floor houses the bedroom, balcony and powder room, while the lower floor encases the bathroom, lounge and living room, leading to a balcony.
Nautilus Villa

Nautilus Villa

Views of the beach peek through the jungle here at Nautilus, a 98sq m, split-level villa with plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces. These include the upper bedroom, with vaulted ceilings and doors opening onto a balcony, and the lower living room and lounge that open onto a sundeck. Best of all though, Nautilus features an indoor-outdoor bathroom; you can bathe or shower surrounded by rainforest here!

Bedarra Island Resort may be a barefoot luxury escape, but it comes perfectly equipped too. There’s a gym, shop, lounge and library, as well as a swimming pool, tennis courts and array of watersports gear. Internet is available in 3G form – should you even want it!

Bedarra Island Resort Bar and Restaurant

Bedarra Island Resort Bar and Restaurant

The full-board setup here at Bedarra Island Resort means that all meals and drinks are included in your stay, so head to the restaurant for daily-changing, Asian-inspired menus. In between meals, pour yourself a drink – perhaps a beer, wine, liqueur, or even champagne – in the self-service bar, and snack on fruit, cheese and light bites while looking out to sea. You can also request a romantic meal on the beach, or perhaps a picnic on a desert island should the mood take you.

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Dinner

Your time at Bedarra Island Resort can be as active or relaxing as you like, with gorgeous beaches all around to laze on as well as watersports equipment. On land, you can play tennis or go for a hike through the jungle using maps provided, swim in the pool or go for a workout in the gym.
