For the best highlights of Myanmar, follow this itinerary which includes highlights such as a river cruise up the Irrawaddy with stops along the way to see the famed handi raft villages and teak wood bridge (U Bein), as well as tours in and around the cities of Bagan (including Old Bagan), Mandalay and its surrounding areas, and the beautiful Inle Lake.

Itinerary

Arrive in Yangon and transfer to hotel with the afternoon at leisure. In the evening visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight in Yangon.
On arrival, transfer to hotel. Afterwards, start to tour in Bagan including the colourful Nyaung Oo Market, Shwezigon Pagoda, Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi, the elegant Htilominlo Temple and the Tharaba Gate. Explorations continue in the afternoon including visits to Ananda, Ananda Okkyaung, Thatbyinnyu Temple and Dhammayangyi Temple. Enjoy a fantastic sunset view at one of the famous temples. Overnight in Bagan (B)
After breakfast proceed to Myinkaba village and observe the process of creating traditional lacquer ware. Visit Myinkaba Gubyaukkyi. Next, stop at the Manuha and Nanpaya temples. In the afternoon, enjoy an excursion to the countryside village of Minnanthu. Visit to some of the most interesting temples in the local area such as Payathonzu, Lemyethnar, Sinbyushin, Nandaminnya and Minnanthu monastery. Enjoy sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River at Bupaya. Overnight in Bagan. (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Nyaung Oo Airport for a flight to Mandalay. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Enjoy city tour of Mandalay including the Mahamuni Pagoda, famous for its venerable statue of Buddha covered with gold leaf, local artisans’ workshops specializing in gold leaf, woodcarving and marble carving, the Shwe Inn Bin monastery and the local market. Overnight in Mandalay.
After breakfast, take a morning excursion to Amarapura. Visit Mahagandayone Monastery where more than one thousand of monks live and study. Then, visit U Bein Bridge (the world’s longest teakwood bridge) and the Taungthaman Lake. In the afternoon, visit the Golden Shwenandaw Monastery  Atumashi Monastery, and the Kuthodaw Pagoda with its 729 marble stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures (known as the world’s biggest book). Enjoy the sunset from Mandalay Hill. Overnight in Mandalay. (B)
In the morning, transfer to airport for flight to Heho in Shan State. On arrival, continue by car and enjoy a scenic drive to Nyaung Shwe jetty. Take a day tour of Inle Lake by private boat which includes a chance to see the local fishermen and the floating gardens. Visit a floating village at Ywama where a floating market is held every 5 days. The tour also includes a visit to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the weaving village of Inpawkhon and the jumping cat monastery. Overnight at Inle Lake. (B)
Take a morning visit to a floating village at Ywama where a floating market is held every 5 days and observe local colourful tribes buying and selling their wares. Continue to visit a traditional silversmith village, and the Five Buddha images of Phaung Daw Oo Monastery where the Buddha images have been covered in so much gold that they look like balls of solid gold. Afternoon is free at leisure to relax. Overnight at Inle Lake.(B)
In the morning transfer to Nyaung Shwe jetty by private boat and enjoy a scenic drive to Heho Airport for the flight to Yangon. On arrival, transfer to hotel. Take an afternoon shopping excursion to Bogyok Aung San (Scott) Market, the city’s busiest and most lively bazaar. Afterwards visit the Botataung Pagoda, Chinatown and the fruit market. Overnight in Yagon.
Take a morning excursion and visit to Chaukhtatkyi Reclining Buddha and Karaweik Royal Barge (a floating barge on the Kandawgyi Royal Lake). Transfer to Yangon Airport for departure.
