Here you’ll we taken to the luxury tented camp Sasaab for a two night stay. Your accommodation is a double tent with its own plunge pool and views across Laikipia Plateau toward Mount Kenya. This exceptional space is created to immerse you in the surroundings, with horizon views from the four-poster-bed and tented walls ensuring vistas from every room. Be sure to keep an eye on the river below Sassab where elephants regularly come to bathe.
Your stay includes a game package, so today can be spent discovering the rich wildlife of this stunning part of Kenya. Sightings could include elephant herds, big cats such as lions, leopards and cheetahs, and a wealth of birdlife. Your ranger will also help you to spy the Samburu Special Five which aren’t found anywhere else and consist of the beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk antelope and Somali ostrich. Game drives can start early with a picnic breakfast, or later with a stop for lunch. After sundowners your ranger can point out nocturnal wildlife including genet cats, white-tailed mongoose, porcupines and bush-babies.
Today you’ll move to your next stop, Maasai Mara.
