Itinerary

Day 1 Fly to Reykjavik

Fly from the UK to Reykjavik. On arrival, take a private car transfer to your hotel for the next two nights, the Retreat Hotel. Located on the edge of the renowned geothermal Blue Lagoon, this is one of the ultimate spots to unwind. After settling into your stylish suite, why not indulge in dinner at one of the award-winning restaurants, soaking up stunning views alongside fresh, local ingredients.

Day 2 Geldingadalur Volcano & Blue Lagoon

Today you have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the raw power of Iceland’s landscape. Embark on a guided tour to Geldingadalur Volcano, which is the first volcano to erupt in the area for 800 years. In total safety, watch the streams of molten lava bubbling up from the crater. On your return to the Retreat, dip yourself into the geothermal, mineral-rich waters, created by similar volcanic activity many years before.

Day 3 Reykjavik to Akureyri

Make the most of your final morning at the Retreat Hotel, perhaps booking a subterranean massage, visiting the Mask Bar or stopping by the sauna and steam room, which are warmed with heat harnessed from deep within the Earth. You’ll then take a private air transfer to Akureyri, where you’ll head to Deplar Farm for three nights. A welcome dinner awaits you in the evening.

Day 4 Deplar Farm Spa & Outdoor Adventures

Awaken to Deplar Farm, with a beautiful, remote landscape where you can totally switch off. The hotel boasts a fabulous spa, with an open-air, warm geothermal pool, sauna, steam room and three massage rooms. A number of excursions can be arranged year-round; today, why not take a hike around the stunning Troll Peninsula through the Svarfaðardalur Nature Reserve?

Day 5 Deplar Farm Spa & Outdoor Adventures

After a wonderful breakfast at the hotel, and perhaps a morning yoga class, more outdoor adventures await. You could take an off-road drive in a Tom Car, go lake fishing, sea kayaking, horse riding or fat biking on the private trails. Head back to the spa to unwind, or cosy up with a book by the fireplace in the library. For dinner, another fabulous farm-to-fork meal will be served, offering a modern take on Icelandic staples.

Feeling thoroughly rejuvenated and refreshed, you’ll check-out of Deplar Farm and take a private transfer to Akureyi’s airport for your flight back to the UK.
