Between June and August Iceland experiences a period of almost 24-hours of daylight each day, with the midnight sun casting a unique light over the land. This is a great time of the day to tour and sightsee as there are fewer visitors out at the main attractions so it feels like you are the only ones there. During this time of year there is also no need to feel that you have to get somewhere before it gets dark! This tour takes in some of Iceland’s most iconic sights such as the geyser geothermal area in Haukadalur, hot springs and Gullfoss Falls.

Itinerary

Day 1 Reykjavik Arrival

On arrival in to Keflavik International Airport you will be met and transferred to your Reykjavik Hotel.

Day 2 Midnight Sun Tour of Iceland’s South Coast and Eyjafjallajokull Volcano

Your tour departs at 18:30 and runs for 7 - 8 hours, returning to your hotel around 01:30 - 02:30 so you really do get to experience Iceland's incredible attractions under the unique light of the Midnight Sun. Highlights of this evenings tour include Thingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur where you can see geysers, hot springs, steam vents and the powerful Strokkur Geyser. Stop at what is considered the queen of Icelandic waterfalls, Gullfoss waterfall before returning to Reykjavik.

Day 3 Day of Leisure in Reykjavik

You may not be accustomed to the midnight sun so you may want to take a late breakfast and spend the rest of today exploring Reykjavik at your leisure. Alternatively, for the more adventurous opt for a quad bike tour across the dramatic volcanic and mountain landscapes or a midnight sun whale-watching cruise.
