Ellerton

Built for a manager of a large tea estate over a century ago, the Ellerton is now a seven-room property welcoming you to this beautiful area just 30 minutes from Kandy.

Ellerton has a truly informal feel and is decorated in a country house style making you feel as if you are in a friend’s house.

There is a Main House, Valley House and Garden Room as well as a pool and pretty gardens. The Main House has a large sitting room for all to use, a dining room for when the evenings become a little cooler and also a study with a television. There are three bedrooms here, two doubles and one twin, two of which can become triple rooms.

Just a 30 yard walk away is the Valley House where there are two double rooms with walk-in showers and a bath and a twin room with a shower, as well as a large veranda in this house.

The Garden Room has a bedroom with a sitting area and private balcony with views straight down the valley to the Ulagalla Mountain.

Stays at Ellerton include all soft drinks, tea, coffee and local alcohol. Additionally, meals, cooked by the two chefs, can be enjoyed on the pavilion; breakfast can be taken at any time and there are usually Sri Lankan fruits to be enjoyed as well as other dishes whilst dinner include a choice of a curry or non-curry option for your main course with an accompaniment of red or white wine.

With only a television in the main house, the Ellerton is the perfect setting to enjoy the local attractions and the surroundings on foot or on the complimentary bicycles provided.
