Hotel information
Located only two hours from Sydney, Hunter Valley is a popular stopover for those on a self-drive along the New South Wales Pacific Coast or a one or two-night addition to a Sydney holiday.
This boutique hotel offers 12 guest rooms plus the four-bedroom Vineyard House. Choose from ground floor rooms with French doors leading out to a large veranda, or first floor rooms that afford sweeping vineyard and mountain views. On the cooler spring and winter evenings, cosy up next to your open fireplace with a glass of locally produced Semillon, Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon.
Take a tour of the onsite vineyard and visit the private 350-bottle wine cellar; laze by the pool or in the hot spa; or take a ride around the estate on one of the property’s mountain bikes.
Modern Australian cuisine is served at Restaurant Botanica, where chefs source herbs and vegetables from the kitchen garden. Choose to dine indoors or outside on the terrace, where you can enjoy stunning views of the nearby mountains and onsite vineyard. A complimentary à la carte breakfast is served here every morning, and gourmet picnics can be ordered for a day in the vines.
The main attraction in the Hunter Valley is the vineyards; a private tour to sample local wines at cellar doors is the best way to experience this, however, you can also do this independently at your own pace. The Brokenback Range is the perfect setting for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, while golfers have a good choice of championship and nine-hole courses to pick from. For the early risers, one of the most memorable ways to experience this beautiful area is on a hot air balloon flight, floating over the vineyards as day breaks.
Spicers Vineyards Estate is essentially an adult focused property, however, children of all ages can be accommodated in the four-bedroom Vineyard’s House.
