Solio Lodge, tucked in a valley between the slopes of Mount Kenya and the peaks of the Aberdare Mountains, offers total exclusivity in one of Laikipia's private conservancies and is surrounded by a 45,000-acre private ranch. The location is rich in wildlife and is internationally recognised for its private rhino breeding sanctuaries which is home to 200 black and white rhinos and some of Northern Kenya's indigenous wildlife.

The lodge has five individual cottages and one family unit with two en-suite bedrooms. Each cottage has floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a large veranda so you can enjoy the spectacular views of Mount Kenya. Solio's ranch affords many activities such as horseback riding, cycling, walking safari and is one of the best places in the world to encounter wild rhinos.

Each cottage has a large sitting area with an open fireplace. The en-suite bathrooms are enormous with double sinks, showers, baths, separate toilet and a dressing area.

Solio's family cottage is a unit comprising of two interconnecting by a shared lounge, two bedrooms and two en-suite bathrooms.

Enjoy game drives within the conservancy, also go horseback riding, walking or cycling within the Solio's Ranch. The lodge's location allows for easy access to Mount Kenya by helicopter and the Aberdares by road, for trout fishing.

Each guest who stays at Solio pays conservation fees that go towards the conservation of the endangered white and black rhino as well as other species within the sanctuary.

Solio Lodge is also involved in education and health programmes in the local community. The Safari Collection has strong links to local schools around the Solio Lodge and in two years their donors have completely rebuilt the Charles Wickham Honi Primary School.
