Take an illustrious journey by yacht and rail along the Adriatic coast and across Italian landscapes, travelling in timeless style with Orient Express throughout.

Your journey starts on the Orient Express Corinthian, the world’s largest sailing yacht and the latest addition to Orient Express’ existing line-up of iconic hotels and trains. While the yacht may be new, it still emulates the brand’s renowned art deco style, bringing to life the golden age of travel with a moody on-board speakeasy, a Guerlain spa and a speciality restaurant by Michelin-starred chef, Yannick Alleno.

After cruising from Dubrovnik to Venice, stopping for truffle hunting in Rovinj along the way, you’ll spend three nights in the city at the Orient Express Venezia Palazzo Dona Giovannelli, a grand mansion just minutes from the heart of the action.

Finally, you’ll board the elegant La Dolce Vita Orient Express train, crafted to celebrate the glamour of the 1960s. Relax in luxurious interiors, savour gourmet dining and enjoy ambient live music as you rumble through breathtaking landscapes, arriving in Rome to complete this iconic route.

Itinerary

Fly either in business class or on a private jet, and arrive at Dubrovnik airport. Your private chauffeur-driven car will collect you and escort you to the port, where you’ll embark Orient Express Corinthian. Spend the night soaking in the ambience of this beautiful yacht in a magical setting, savouring food by Yannick Alléno or unwinding with a treatment in Le SPA. On your second day, you’ll depart and start your route along the Adriatic coastline.
Hvar
This morning, you’ll arrive in Hvar, a magnet for yachters with a slew of high-profile visitors. Wander the cobbled streets to seek out the 16th-century cathedral, stopping for a coffee alongside on the terraces. Or, head out to the beaches, taking a dip in the deep blue waters and soaking in the mountain scenery.
Rovinj
Rovinj oozes Croatian charm, with its maze of alleyways and pastel-coloured facades hinting at the country’s Venetian past. Admire Balbai’s Arch with its winged lion, and stroll past the Church of St Euphemia to see Istria’s tallest bell. You’ll also have the opportunity to delve into the region’s forests for a day of truffle hunting. Guided by an expert and his trained dogs, you’ll seek out the black gold before learning about local winemaking and dining on a multi-course truffle-infused lunch.
Arrive in Venice, a city like no other, and disembark the Orient Express Corinthian. A water taxi will then whisk you to your hotel for the next three nights, the stunning Orient Express Venezia Palazzo Dona Giovannelli. This former 15-century palace masterfully reflects its illustrious history through ornate interiors, from its finely carved marble to its gilded salons and meticulous frescoes.
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore the storied treasures of Venice. From St Mark’s Square to the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs, there are, of course, many highlights. But, strolling through the Medieval streets, there’s always plenty to surprise you, whether you’re dipping into the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, browsing Rialto Market or tracking down unique reads at the Acqua Alta book store.
After checking out of Orient Express Venezia Palazzo Dona Giovannelli, you’ll board the La Dolce Vita Orient Express train, the finest way to travel across Italy. You’ll stay in a suite cabin, presented as a master bedroom with a plush sofa and armchairs to relax in, alongside your bed for the night. Unwind as you watch the landscapes unfurl through the windows, with a meal created by Chef Heinz Beck and live music in the lounge.
Wake to a delicious breakfast served as the Tuscan hills roll by, before making a stop in Siena for lunch and plenty of time to explore. Explore independently, or opt for a curated excursion to take a private tour of an ancient palazzo, or join an expert to dig deep into the treasures of the Duomo. Return to La Dolce Vita to continue to Rome, for an early evening arrival and for a return flight to the UK.
