Full accommodation information

From its inception over 50 years ago, Curtain Bluff has been considered a Caribbean sanctuary for many seeking solace on the shores of Antigua.

The resort may have grown over the years, but it has lost none of its original intimacy and charm. Still family-owned and operated, this exclusive, all-inclusive Antigua hotel welcomes back loyal guests year after year.

Standing proudly on a rocky bluff, the hotel is flanked by two amazing beaches, one of which is ideal for surfing, the other is much calmer and perfect for swimming.

Some 72 rooms and suites are placed along the bluff, or right on the palm-shaded Atlantic 'surf' beach, affording incredible views. Grace & Morris Bay Suites are recognized as being two of the very best on Antigua, with a beachfront position and private Jacuzzi making for an ideal luxury honeymoon setting.

Whether active or indulgent, holiday-makers will find something special to occupy their time. Spa lovers can enjoy a range of therapies in any of the five treatment rooms at the stunning oceanfront spa or in the privacy of your room or suite. Boasting four championship courts, the hotel is also renowned for its luxury tennis holidays.

Dining is exceptional too and includes the lunchtime beach buffet served at The Sea Grape, where you can dine with the sand between your toes. Alternatively, spend an evening in a stylish restaurant, The Tamarind Tree, where mouth-watering cuisine is accompanied by a bottle from the prodigious Wine Cellar – over 400 different vintages to choose from!

72 magnificent suites, all with stunning sea views, air-conditioning and stylish bathrooms await guests at this world-renowned resort. The suites and guestrooms are situated either along the Surf Beach or just a few steps from the pristine white sand up the rocky bluff.

All accommodation is incredibly spacious and decorated in elegant tropical style. Curtain Bluff and luxury go hand in hand, so the rooms include modern features such as over-sized soaking tubs, wood-panelled ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Room configurations are flexible to ensure that every need is met – rooms and suites can be linked together for larger groups, couches can be converted into beds if parents wish for their children to share their room, and king-sized beds can become two twins.

Deluxe Rooms

Deluxe Rooms

Sleeps: 2 Adults , 1 Child

Curtain Bluff’s most affordable accommodations, the 18 Deluxe Rooms fill a two-story Caribbean-style villa right on our Surf Beach, a short walk down a shaded pathway from the bar and restaurant. 9 rooms are on the beach level, with spacious terraces that lead straight out on to the sand. Spread out on the floor above, 9 more have verandahs looking out over the sand and sea to the distant headland.
Bluff Rooms

Bluff Rooms

Sleeps: 2 Adults , 1 Child

Set into the rocky edge of the bluff, the 5 Bluff Rooms have same décor, bedroom and bathroom as the Executive One-bedroom Suites, but no living room. Their spacious terraces look out over both the sea and the resort’s Surf Beach. When combined with an Executive Suite (using an interconnecting door), it creates the perfect space for two couples or a family, with three different levels, a shared living room and well-separated bedrooms.
Terrace Suite

Terrace Suite

Sleeps: 2 Adults , 1 Child

The unique Terrace Suite is the most popular choice for newly-weds thanks to its private location at the very top of the bluff and breathtaking views over the beach, Morris Bay and the Caribbean Sea. White walls, bright sea-blue fabrics, one-of-a-kind furnishings and glowing woods give the room a sense of calm, timeless sophistication. Its large 567-square-foot terrace with an elevated Jacuzzi is the ideal spot for private relaxation and dining.
Junior Suite

Junior Suite

Sleeps: 2 Adults , 2 Children

40 Junior Suites are spread through three-story villas right on the resort’s Surf Beach, just a stone’s throw from the water. All have sunken living rooms and separate bedrooms with elegant sea-grass sofas and armchairs, accented with rich blues and greens that mirror the colours outside. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead on to verandahs and terraces looking out over the sea, palms and lushly forested shoreline.
Grace & Morris Bay Suites

Grace & Morris Bay Suites

Sleeps: 2 Adults , 1 Child

The most luxurious of Curtain Bluff’s accommodations, these 2 generously scaled suites occupy the third floor of a Caribbean-style villa, right on the resort’s "surf" beach. Both suites are luxuriously furnished with blue-marble bathrooms, colonial furniture, richly coloured fabrics and lush palms. The bedroom and adjoining living room lead out on to a sweeping verandah with sun-chairs and a Jacuzzi, the perfect place for private sunbathing or cocktails under the stars.
One Bedroom Bluff Suite

One Bedroom Bluff Suite

Sleeps: 2 Adults , 2 Children

Overlooking the Surf Beach but a few steps higher up the bluff, the 6 one- and two-bedroom Executive Suites are more private and secluded. Their split-level interiors are light and airy, decorated with natural-wood and sea-grass furniture and bright, natural colours. To the side of the large living room there is a sun-drenched garden patio with a hammock. Upstairs there is a breakfast nook and a 16-foot-wide dining terrace that make the most of the panoramic views.

Activities

A wealth of activities are included in the all-inclusive room rate, such as scuba diving, waterskiing, gardening tours, water aerobics and Pilates classes.

One of the highlights at Curtain Bluff is the two gorgeous beaches – both are just a stone’s throw from your room and both offer completely different Caribbean beach experiences. Bay Beach is the livelier of the two, offering an array of watersports in the perfectly calm, clear water, which is sheltered by Cades Reef, a popular snorkelling site. The beach is also home to a Cafe and Bar, where divine buffet lunches and weekly barbecues take place. Surf Beach is located on the other side of the Bluff and boasts a beautifully secluded stretch of sand, ideal for lounging in a hammock or playing in the surf.

The tennis facilities at Curtain Bluff are exceptional. There are four championship hard courts, beautifully designed and in excellent condition. With three resident pros, the resort is the perfect base for Antigua Tennis Week, an international pro-am tennis festival attracting tennis stars from around the world. For guests, this means that there is no better location to improve that backhand or to simply have a little knock up!

Entertainment

Curtain Bluff’s award-winning culinary team deliver innovative, diverse and delectable dishes at two exceptional restaurants. The Tamarind Tree is the resort’s main restaurant, serving delicious banana pancakes, freshly baked pastries and fresh juices at breakfast, and offering an ever-changing five-course menu in the evenings, including locally caught fish and a wealth of tempting desserts. There is a different live band playing every evening, guaranteeing a vibrant Caribbean vibe. The resort’s second restaurant is located at the far end of the Bay Beach directly on the sand, and is home to renowned lunch buffets, including the weekly beach barbecue with a live steel drum band. Four nights a week, the Sea Grape also serves delicious Italian and Antiguan cuisine – an intimate beachfront venue lit up by tiki lights and starry skies.

Curtain Bluff also caters well for younger guests – early dinners are served on the Tamarind Terrace, after which babysitters are available to look after the children in your room, allowing parents to make the most of the delicious food and buzzing live music.

Alongside the fine dining at Curtain Bluff, another highlight is the phenomenal wine cellar, one of the finest in the Caribbean with over 25,000 bottles. Spending a Friday afternoon wine tasting in the cellar is highly recommended.

Curtain Bluff is a Green Globe certified hotel, first certified in 2008 due to its eco initiatives. Curtain Bluff help their local community by funding an education programme called the Old Road Fund. This benefits the community by giving job training and educational opportunities, as well as healthcare and community projects. Curtain Bluff has raised three million dollars for the initiative and provided job opportunities for the local people on the programme.

In the resort, all the hotel’s cleaning products are eco-friendly, and locally sourced products are used to reduce their carbon footprint.
