Azur Lodge

You simply can’t beat the view at Azur Lodge, a boutique bolthole just outside Queenstown which bestows lucky guests with prime panoramas of Wakatipu Lake, and the Remarkable Mountains.

Full accommodation information

Revel in the secluded setting of Azur Lodge in New Zealand, a small luxury hotel beloved for its personal service and breathtaking vistas.

Dotted on a hill above Lake Wakitipu, Azur Lodge is blessed with panoramic views from each of its nine large villas and accompanying private sundecks.

These have been designed to perfectly complement their setting, clad in wood, stone and glass, kitted out with underfloor heating and intimate living spaces that gaze out towards the lake through floor-to-ceiling windows; even the irresistible, deep-soak bathtubs are positioned to overlook this jaw-dropping scene.

Although this luxury Queenstown lodge is located two miles out of town, complimentary transfers are provided until 11 pm every day, making it easy to get out and about and sample the region’s fine fare.

That said, a gourmet breakfast, afternoon tea and pre-dinner canapés and drinks are served whenever you please at Azur Lodge, whether in-villa or at the main lodge itself.

Other meals can also be brought to you from local restaurants, with the staff presenting it all beautifully – for something a little different, leaving nothing left but to sit back, relax, and enjoy those arresting lake and mountain views.

While there is neither a spa nor gym onsite at Azur Lodge, massages and other treatments can be arranged in the privacy of your villa, and you can also access a gym in Queenstown free of charge. One of the nicest perks is the complimentary shuttle service between the hotel and downtown/the airport, as well as grazing on lip-smacking canapés in the elegant communal lounge.

Queenstown is often called the ‘adventure capital of the world’, so adrenaline junkies will have no problem settling in here. Think canyoning, sky diving, bungy jumping, white-water rafting, paragliding, zip-lining and jet-boating over the Shotover Canyon; or skiing and snowboarding in winter. For something a little slower paced, you can enjoy golf, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, or take a trip up the gondola for picture postcard views of the town below you. And to slow things down even more, take a tour of one of the local vineyards, dip in thermal pools or simply wander across to Queenstown Gardens. Popular with tourists and locals alike, this lovely part of town provides a peaceful walk through winding paths by the water that are glorious all year round.
