Set on the idyllic island of Racha Yai, The Racha is a luxurious hideaway resort around 12 miles south of Phuket.

Featuring just 85 decadent villas, all positioned along the pristine Batok Beach, this is the ideal romantic escape. There is an array of accommodation from Deluxe Rooms with interconnecting doors to The LightHouse, an opulent five-storey apartment boasting 360-degree views, its own pool, private terrace and sundeck. In between, there are Pool Suites with a private plunge pool. The décor throughout is neutral allowing the natural environment to pull focus.

To enhance your luxurious stay further, indulge at the Anumba Spa – an alfresco spa utilising local techniques and drawing on ancient Thai traditions to perform relaxing massages and pampering sessions. Other facilities on offer are a fully-equipped gym and tennis courts, and those wanting to venture further can take to the nature trails or borrow a mountain bike. For water lovers, it’s possible to canoe or snorkel right off of the beach, or simply relax by the pool with a good book.

Scattered around the resort, there are five dining options to choose from, each offering a unique vantage point of the resort and delectable cuisines from around the world. Earth Cafe is home to an international buffet, while Fire Grill serves Mediterranean and Ice Bar has cocktails.

For the night owls, a couple of bars stay open late and you can enjoy a cocktail and listen to the resident band.

Our Advice

Borrow a mountain bike for the day and explore the island of Racha Yai with its tropical jungle and hideaway beaches. Head to highest point for incredible views.

The resort offers a fullyequipped PADI dive training centre complete with a three-metre instructional pool. Once you master this skill, head

out with the instructors to explore the mesmerising underwater world of the Andaman Sea.
