Set just outside the city of Kota Kinabalu in an idyllic hideaway beach location, Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu offers a rustic back-to nature experience in a luxury setting.

At the heart of the hotel is its commitment to wildlife and with this, a Nature Reserve has been founded in partnership with the Sabah Wildlife Department. Guests are offered the opportunity to learn about the natural beauty of the local area. The rest of the jungle provides the natural habitat for a plethora of free-roaming wildlife and accompanied by experts, guests are encouraged to discover the local flora and fauna.

The accommodation is first class, and all rooms come complete with a balcony or terrace offering extensive views of the ocean or out into the jungle. The Summit Breakfast is an unforgettable start to the day. Savour breakfast at one of the highest points in the nature reserve, whilst the rainforest wakes up around you. On a clear day, you can even see the sunrise over Mount Kinabalu
The Nature Reserve is home to countless small mammals, over 60 species of birds and 30 species of butterflies. In the evening, guests can visit the nocturnal watch area.
The mighty Mount Kinabalu is just a taxi ride away, and the climb to the top is energetic, but not only for the experienced. The views offered from the top are breathtaking.
