Hotel information
Nestled inside an ancient tropical rainforest along the white sands of one of Langkawi’s most beautiful beaches, this luxurious hotel is the perfect paradise for a romantic retreat or an extra-special getaway.
Welcomed by a lotus flower pond in the open-air reception and bar area, the resort extends through the jungle down to a picture-perfect beach. The accommodation is luxurious and spacious and no matter where you choose to stay you will be greeted with views of lush tropical rainforest. The whole resort has an extremely exotic feel, so don’t be surprised to be greeted by inquisitive monkeys.
Activities are aplenty, and you can choose to relax poolside as the attentive staff fill your glass and offer cooling towels, or kayak out to one of the nearby islands. The resort’s back garden is a 750-hectare rainforest where it is possible to hike to dramatic waterfalls and swim in nearby streams. After returning to the resort, The Datai Spa beckons with its extensive treatment menu and highly qualified staff.
The resort is remote and the dining scene is truly indulgent, so be sure to head into the 10 million-year-old jungle to try the delights of The Gulai House, which serves traditional Malay and Indian dishes in a rustic rainforest setting. You can also discover award-winning Thai cuisine at The Pavilion, which is set on stilts and floats in a canopy of virgin rainforest which allows far-reaching views over the rainforest.
When you're not languishing in the aquamarine waters or relaxing on the beach, we recommend a thrilling jungle trek with one of the knowledgeable guides. Golfers will love the 18-hole championship course, and non-golfers will love the award-winning spa just as much. Whatever you do to relax there's a 'must try' waiting to be discovered at this resort - try award-winning rituals such as the Mandi Embun forest healing experience to reinvigorate and reconnect with nature.
