In complete contract to the ochre outback landscapes of Western Australia and Northern Territory, your next stop is the green steamy tropics of northern Queensland. Set sail on a Barrier Reef cruise to Mackay Coral Cay, where the vibrant underwater world beckons. Then, venture into the lush tropics with an 4WD adventure to Daintree, Cape Tribulation, and the 4WD Bloomfield Track.

Arrive at Western Australia’s capital city of Perth and be whisked off to your hotel by private transfer to explore the city and food scene.
Staying at   QT Perth
Enjoy a free day to explore Perth, staring with a morning stroll along the scenic Swan River. Visit Kings Park for panoramic city views. Discover indigenous art at the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the State’s rich cultural and natural heritage at WA Museum Boola Bardip. Take a dip in the Indian Ocean at Cottesloe Beach, followed by a sunset dinner on the waterfront at Elizabeth Quay.
Staying at   QT Perth
A 2.5-hour morning flight from Perth takes you to the remote beach resort of Broome, in Western Australia’s Kimberley region. This afternoon you will join a half-day Broome Sights Tour to learn about the outback town’s unique heritage and colourful al fresco lifestyle. Highlights include Chinatown, learn about the ancient art of pearling, and Matsos Brewery to sample their hand-made ales and famous ginger beer. View dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point, concluding your day watching the sunset at Cable Beach.
Discover the remote and beautiful landscapes of Western Australia’s Kimberley Region on a 4WD adventure along the Gibb River Road. Your first outback experience will be morning tea at Willare Roadhouse, a popular rest stop for local cattlemen. Stop at the notorious ‘Boab Prison; in Derby before joining the Gibb River Road to the picturesque Napier Range. Search for freshwater crocodiles, local birdlife, and indigenous bushtucker at Windjana Gorge. Explore the 750-metre cave system at Tunnel Creek, where you will discover subterranean wildlife.
Relax by the resort’s adult-only Ocean Pool, or enjoy a morning stroll along the spectacular Cable Beach, 22Kms of pristine white sand. Optional scenic heli-adventures include flights over the spectacular Montgomery Reef, and Horizontal Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world, or touchdown on a secluded beach for a Gourmet Beach Picnic. This evening, catch the latest movies at Sun Pictures, the world’s oldest outdoor picture garden, operating since 1916.
Kununurra, Western Australia
A final morning at Cable Beach Resort, stroll through the resorts beautiful grounds filled with native trees, flora and fauna or maybe squeeze in a regenerating treatment at Chahoya Spa by L’Occitane before your short flight to Kununurra. This unique outback town features rare pink diamond boutiques set side by side with rough and ready country pubs. Other points of interest include the Waringarri Aboriginal Arts Centre and The Hoochery Distillery, where you can sample 100% Australian -made Rum at the oldest operating LEGAL Still in Western Australia. Purnululu National Park, Western Australia
Take to the skies by light aircraft, departing Kununurra passing over Lake Argyle and the Argyle Diamond Mine, the fourth-largest diamond-producing mine in the world by volume. Your scenic flight takes you over dramatic landscapes including Carr Boyd Ranges and the Osmand Ranges. Touchdown at the remote Bellburn Airstrip at Purnululu National Park for your moderate 3Km walk through the famous bee-hive domes of the Bungle Bungles. Marvel at this astonishing geological formation, so remote is was only known to local Aboriginal people until discovered by cattle ranches in the 1980’s. Overnight at Kununurra Country Club
Darwin
Before your short afternoon flight to Darwin, optional activities include helicopter flights to remote waterfalls with time for you to swim in your private natural pool or join an Aboriginal guide to explore the ancient escarpments of Mirima National Park, discover rock art sites and learn about traditional plant uses. Enjoy an evening in the vibrant downtown area of Darwin.
Transfer to Darwin Berrimah Terminal where you board the iconic Ghan for what is regarded as one of world’s greatest train journeys. Settle into your cabin before mingling with fellow travellers in the Outback Explorer Lounge and enjoying lunch ahead of your Off Train Experience in Katherine. Wind your way down the Katherine River on a relaxing cruise of Nitmiluk Gorge, stopping along the way to visit a stunning Indigenous rock art site. An optional helicopter flight over the gorge is available for a supplement. Return to The Ghan for dinner as you continue your journey south to Alice Springs.
Alice Springs
You’ll arrive in Alice Springs shortly after breakfast where you will have a choice of fascinating Off Train Experiences. “A Town Like Alice” showcases a variety of top attractions this unique outback town has to offer, including the Alice Springs School of Air, the first school to use two-way radio broadcasts to educate students, covering an area of 1.3 million square kilometres, and is still in operation today. Other Off Train Experiences include “Alice by E Bike”. Dinner is at your leisure. Overnight at DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs
Alice Springs
The morning is free for you to discover more of Alice Springs at your leisure. We suggest visiting the Royal Flying Doctor Service Tourist Facility & Museum, to learn of the heroic tales of the RFDS through the wonder of technology. Other points of interest include the Women’s Museum of Australia, focusing on the place of women in Australian History. This afternoon you will meet your crew and guides from Outback Spirit Tours who will be your hosts on your 4WD Red-Centre Adventure. Dinner is at your hotel this evening. Kings Canyon
After breakfast at the hotel, board your state-of-the-art 4WD Mercedes-Benz vehicle for your 5-day adventure into the Northern Territory's vast Red Centre. Travel the Mereenie Loop through the scenic Western MacDonnell Ranges visiting Standley Chasm and Ormiston Gorge before arriving at Kings Canyon with its soaring sandstone walls. Kings Canyon
Put on your hiking boots and embark on the spellbinding 6km Rim Walk, transcending down into the Garden of Eden, returning to the top for 360 views, and through Priscilla’s Crack, made famous by the classic movie Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Alternatively, a less arduous walk of 2.6km takes you along the canyon floor. A 15-minute scenic helicopter flight soars over Kings Canyon and the Watarrka National Park is an optional extra. Continue your 4WD Adventure through Kings Canyon Station to Curtin Springs, a million-acre working cattle station where you will enjoy lunch with Mt. Connor looming in the distance. Continue to Uluru (Ayers Rock Resort) to freshen up ready for your magical ‘Sounds of Silence’ dining experience this evening. Enjoy canapes and sparkling wine while listening to the haunting sounds of the didgeridoo being played as the sun sets over the desert. A bush tucker-inspired dinner is served while the resident star-talker showcases the southern night sky.
Set your alarm clock to ensure you witness sunrise over Uluru with the colours changing across the desert floor. Explore Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), a group of large, domed rock formations, on a guided hike into Walpa Gorge. A guided tour around the base of Uluru will give you an insight to the traditional Anangu culture. As darkness falls, the group will venture out to an exclusive dune-top location with majestic views of Uluru, and witness the ground come to life with Bruce Munro’s global phenomenon ‘Field of Light’.
Alice Springs
Today, return to Alice Springs with a short pause to take in views of the desert’s third desert giant, Mount Conner, before arriving at your hotel in the afternoon. The evening is at your leisure. Overnight at DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs
The day is yours to explore Alice Springs before transferring to Alice Springs Station to rejoin the Ghan Expedition. Coober Pedy
Stop at Manguri Siding, for an Off Train Experience at the weird and wonderful Coober Pedy, a remote opal mining township where more than half the residents live underground to escape the intense daytime heat. Enjoy a unique dining experience underground before you rejoin the Ghan for the last leg of your rail expedition.
After spending several days traversing the outback, this morning’s landscape will be a dramatic change as you wake to views of South Australia’s green fields. A leisurely brunch is served as you pass through the majestic Flinders Ranges before completing one of the world’s great rail journeys in Adelaide. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day and evening at your leisure exploring Adelaide’s vibrant foodie scene.

Discover the magical Daintree Rainforest on this small group 4WD adventure, searching for Estuarine Crocodiles a Daintree River Cruise. Take in panoramic views of the UNESCO World Heritage Listed ancient Daintree Rainforest from Alexandra Range Lookout and experience the rainforest intimately along one of the elevated National Park Boardwalks. Enjoy exclusive access to the 4WD Bloomfield Track where you can swim in the pristine Emmagen Creek and stroll along Cape Tribulation Beach where the ‘Rainforest meets the Reef’.
