Discover the highlights of Norway on this expertly crafted itinerary, covering cultural cities and iconic fjords in one unforgettable trip.

Over nine nights, you’ll make stops in Bergen, Ålesund and Oslo, where you’ll enjoy private guided tours of each city’s highlights. From taking the funicular up Mount Floyen in Bergen, to wandering the historic streets of Alnes and delving into cultural landmarks of the capital, Oslo, there’s plenty to be discovered.

Of course, a highlight for many will be the chance to see the natural splendour of the fjords. This trip includes cruises through Hardangerfjord and Geirangerfjord, with opportunities to stop off to explore local farms and perhaps take a dip in one of the sheltered bays. As with all our bespoke tours, this itinerary can be tailored to suit your preferences, with additional experiences or time in each city arranged to your liking.

Itinerary

Bergen
Fly from the UK to Bergen. Take a private transfer to your hotel and check-in for a four-night stay.
After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you in the hotel’s lobby to escort you on a tour of Bergen. You’ll see many of Bergen’s highlights, including the fish market and the crooked streets of Bryggen’s old town and the medieval churches, Domkirken and Korskirken. After lunch, you’ll visit the beautiful former home of composer Edvard Grieg, the most famous and internationally successful Norwegian composer.
You’ll be met again by your guide this morning for a morning walking tour of Mount Floyen, one of seven mountains that surround Bergen. Take the Fløibanen funicular up to the top, and soak in panoramic views before enjoying an afternoon at leisure - perhaps sipping a coffee at a local cafe, or browsing the shops in search of Norwegian crafts.
Today, you’ll take a day cruise to the spectacular Hardangerfjord. After gliding past the fjords, mountains, waterfalls and cider orchards, you can choose stop off to paddleboard in an idyllic bay, take a refreshing dip in the crisp waters, or stop by a local farm for a cheese tasting. For dinner, you’ll dine at Cornelius Sea Restaurant, one of Scandinavia's most prestigious seafood restaurants, located on an island outside Bergen. A boat transfer will return you to Bergen later in the evening.
Check-out of your hotel and take a 45-minute transfer to Bergen Airport for your flight to Ålesund. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and check-in for a three-night stay.
Alesund
After a restful evening, meet your driver and guide this morning for a private sightseeing tour. Ålesund is a picturesque port town set at the gateway to the magnificent Geirangerfjord. Having been rebuilt in 1904, it’s now known for its distinctive Art Nouveau architecture. Some highlights of your tour could include Giske Island’s marble church, the lighthouse in the old fishing village of Alnes, and the open-air medieval village of Sunnmøre Museum.
Today offers a real highlight of your trip - a cruise through the UNESCO-protected Geirangerfjord, often said to be one of the most spectacular places on Earth. During your tour, you’ll have a front row seat to snow-covered mountain peaks, thundering waterfalls and misty-shrouded cliffs, with time for a visit to a mountain farm and a hike before heading back to your hotel for dinner.
Head back to Ålesund Airport for a flight to your final stop, Oslo. Check-in to your city hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening at leisure.
With the mountains and the sea enhancing its innovative architecture, Oslo is a modern capital with a unique Nordic feeling. Escorted by your driver guide, you’ll see the most famous landmarks such as the Opera House, where you can walk on the roof, the House of Parliament, Gustav Vigeland's Sculpture Park, and Aker Brygge; and if you wish, visit the famous City Hall, where the Nobel Peace Prize is annually awarded, or the viewing deck on Holmenkollen, which offers a stunning view over the city.
Today, your Nordic adventure comes to an end. Check-out of your hotel and take a private transfer to Oslo Airport for your flight back to the UK.
