Tierra Atacama was built with local materials such as adobe and local rock to blend seamlessly into the natural environment. Aspects of the original site, such as the ancient trees and adobe walls, were left intact as a mark of respect for the indigenous people who once lived in San Pedro de Atacama.

This boutique lodge offers 30 rooms and two family suites, spectacularly positioned with magnificent views towards Licancabur Volcano or the vast Salt Mountain range. All the rooms are furnished in a minimalistic style with materials sourced from the region. Dine at the hotel’s cosy restaurant which serves typical Chilean and Andean dishes such as a traditional crab-filled pastry or succulent ostrich fillet. Meals are complemented by Chilean wines: try the rich, smooth Carménère or the fresh, fruity Sauvignon Blanc from a coastal vineyard.

Tierra Atacama’s Uma Spa is home to an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the Licancubar volcano, a Jacuzzi and an indoor heated pool. Discover a range of treatments inspired by natural desert elements such as volcanic mud and lithium-rich salt.

The hotel offers a full range of excursions for guests to experience the desert. Explore the natural landscapes and local villages by comfortable vehicle, mountain-bike or on horseback or learn about the wonders of the night sky with an astronomy tour.

Spread over two levels and connected by an internal staircase, these rooms sleep up to 6 people. One master bedroom with king-size bed upstairs and two rooms with two twin beds and bathroom downstairs. A large private terrace upstairs overlooks the hotel gardens.

Poniente

More spacious than Oriente Rooms with views towards the volcanoes or Salt Mountain range, private terrace and outdoor shower. Feature one king-size bed or two twin beds.

Oriente
