This tour is for the wildlife enthusiast, or for those that have always dreamed of witnessing the life changing experience of viewing polar bears in their natural habitat . The tour starts with a night in Winnipeg where you will join the group for a three night adventure in the remote northern reaches of Manitoba.

You will be based in Churchill from where you will head out in to the Churchill Wildlife Management Area on a specially adapted all terrain vehicle called a Tundra Buggy®. You will explore the freezing Hudson Bay searching for Polar Bears and other subarctic wildlife such as arctic foxes and ptarmigans.

In Churchill you will visit the Eskimo Museum with its incredible collection of Inuit artifacts as well as be entertained in the evening with a cultural presentation. If the skies are clear you may even be lucky enough to witness the Northern Lights.

Itinerary

Winnipeg
Fly from the UK to Winnipeg, Manitoba. You may wish to take a stopover in Toronto for a few days on your way there, and pop down to visit Niagara Falls.
Churchill
Early in the morning you will take a 2-hour flight from Winnipeg to Churchill, on Hudson Bay, situated in the far north of Manitoba. After, enjoy the Churchill Area Tour which takes you to some of the highlights including historical Cape Merry, here is the site of a crashed airplane which is locally known as Miss Piggy. You will also have time to visit the Eskimo Museum with its collection of Inuit artifacts before a dinner at your hotel followed by an evening cultural presentation.
Today you will head out on the Tundra Buggy®, an all terrain vehicle, and travel through the Churchill Wildlife Management Area. This will be your first opportunity to watch out for polar bears and other wildlife such as arctic foxes, hares and ptarmigans. An afternoon picnic is served in the Tundra Buggy® as you watch the unique wildlife pass by. This evening you will be treated to a home cooked meal and if the sky is clear you may be lucky enough to experience the Northern Lights.
A second day out on the Tundra Buggy® in search of polar bears, a day full of extraordinary wildlife, picnic lunch in your Tundra Buggy® and return to your hotel for another delicious meal.
Your last day in Churchill will focus on the culture of this area and include a mile long dog sled run through boreal forest and you will hear stories from a local dog musher. Lunch will be taken in Churchill before a visit to the Parks Canada Interpretive Centre with displays telling you of Churchill's remarkable history of the fur trade in the area. You will then return to Churchill Airport for your flight to Winnipeg where you will spend one night at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel.
Return to the UK, you may wish to take a stopover in Toronto or Montreal for a few days on your homeward journey.
