Hotel information
This iconic family-owned hotel is the embodiment of the grandeur and opulence of New Orleans. From the ornate neo-classical architecture inside and out, to the raised painted ceilings and heavy patterned furnishings throughout, the experience at this hotel is one of classic refinement.
Each of the guestrooms and suites has been decorated with a timeless elegance to suit any occasion. A range of accommodation options available can suit single travellers, couples and families.
The hotel is famous for the Carousel Bar & Lounge, which is doubtless quite unlike anything you’ve seen before. This time-honoured bar, where flamboyant artists such as Louis Prima and Liberace have performed, is centred by a 25-seat ornate carousel bar that slowly rotates, seats and all. Decorated in the distinctive style of a Victorian circus, complete with vintage yellow bulbs and candy stripes, taking a seat (and an expertly crafted cocktail or two) at this centrepiece is a must for anyone visiting New Orleans.
Time within the hotel can be spent with a cocktail in hand relaxing in the Louisiana sun beside the rooftop pool, keeping up with a fitness routine in the gym, or sampling fine local cuisine at the in-house Criollo restaurant.
When you can tear yourself away from the hotel, you’re well placed to explore the streets of the French Quarter which starts right on your doorstep. Within walking distance are cultural highlights such as the House of Blues Theatre, The Museum of Death and Jackson Square. Within the local streets you can find classic NOLA cuisine such as beignets, or if you’re looking to join the party Bourbon Street is just two blocks away.
