Three Bars Guest Ranch is in a truly beautiful part of the world in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, within a few hours’ drive of both Banff National Park and Glacier National Park and just 15 minutes from Cranbrook Airport.

Three Bars Guest Ranch is set on 35,000 acres of wilderness and ranch land and is the year-round family home of the Beckley Family who will be your hosts, the entire family are hands-on in all day-to-day operations of the ranch, from organising your excursions and trail rides to hosting meals in the dining room.

There are 21 upscale log cabins at Three Bars Guest Ranch, all featuring hand-made log furniture and front porches offering views of the central lawn area and main guest lodge. The Family Cabins are ideal for those with younger children while the Ranch House with three bedrooms is the perfect choice for larger families.

The ranch is home to over 120 horses with a guest to horse ratio of over 2-to-1, this allows for the ranch hands and wranglers to select the ideal horse for your riding ability, whether you are advanced or a first-time rider. Rides are offered every morning and afternoon from Monday to Friday and suitable for all riding abilities, experienced riders can enjoy fast rides while novices can take it easy with relaxed slow trails.

There is a wide variety of activities included in your Three Bars Guest Ranch experience, besides horseback riding, you can discover this vast wilderness by mountain bike or on a guided hike, alternatively head off independently along one of the marked hiking trails. Other experiences on offer include fly and spin fishing, archery, clay pigeon shooting, gold panning and much more.

Amenities at the ranch include an indoor heated pool, outdoor hot tub and Jacuzzi, fitness centre, tennis and volleyball court and kids play area.

Three Bars Guest Ranch is perfect for family holidays and offers a fantastic kids activity and riding programme with gentle horses perfect for young children, families always have the option of riding together if they prefer. Fun activities include building forts, gold panning, feeding sheep, collecting eggs and catching frogs!!

With active days being the norm at Three Bars Guest Ranch, the Berkley family makes sure you are fed well with hearty breakfasts, traditional homemade favourites, BBQ steak cookouts and Mexican fare.

When is the ranch open and what day does riding begin?
Three Bars is open from 21 May 2019 until 28 September 2019. The All Inclusive Summer Adventure Package is available from 23 June until 24 August 2019. There is a 6 night, 5 day package with Sunday starts throughout the year or a 3 night, 4 day package with Sunday and Wednesday arrivals between 26 May - 22 June and 25 August - 5 October 2019. There are no activities on a Saturday or Sunday.

What are the types of rides on offer and how often will I ride?
Discuss your day of riding the night before with the wrangler. Rides available include family rides, adult rides, kid's rides, walking rides, and fast rides. There are morning and afternoon rides and an all day and a breakfast ride once a week. Facilities include an indoor riding arena and two outdoor riding arenas. Enjoy riding through 35,000 acres of beautiful land.

About the horses
Three Bars owns 130 horses which include 80 guest horses, 20 performance horses, brood mares and new foals. There is a horse to guest ration of more than 2-1 and you will use the horse that has been paired to you, for the whole of your stay.

What else can I do at the ranch?
Other activities included in your stay are guided hiking, a guided rafting trip on Mary's River (only in July and August) and a full evening program. Facilities at the ranch include an indoor heated pool, outdoor hot tub, mountain bikes, a tennis court, television in the main lodge and a trap shooting range. Fly fishing takes place in Mary's River and guided day trips are available. The evening program may feature fire engine games with the ranch's own fire truck, a reining horse demo, a casino night, volleyball and a campfire night. Other activities include UTC's, gold-panning, archery, volleyball and zorb football.

Is the ranch suited to children?
Three Bars is more suited to children 6 years and older as this is the minimum age to participate in activities. Kids can either enjoy activities from the kids program or family activities which may include family rides, family hikes and family river rafting.

What other attractions are there in the area?
