Arguably Switzerland’s most picturesque chocolate box resort, Gstaad Ski Resort lies in the Bernese Oberland, nestled amongst a traditional alpine village. Well known amongst celebrities and Royals alike, this famous ski resort is a long-time favourite, including Julie Andrews who funds the decorations of string lights along the promenade. The glamorous surroundings accompanied with the designer boutiques, jewellers and Michelin-starred restaurants of Gstaad Village make for a luxurious spot in Switzerland, proudly earning the best spot for royalty and yourself.
Five ski areas bring together Gstaad, offering 220 kilometres of skiable terrain to excite your winter adventure days. Choose between five different ski areas, soaring to over 195-kilometre pistes and perfect for the intermediate skier. However, don’t be put off if you’re a beginner skier. Gstaad has thought of everything, providing a two small ski runs, Wasserngrat and Wispile. When you have mastered the two pistes, head to the Eggli ski area, much larger and effortlessly accessed from Saanen quad chairlift. 58-kilometres of mostly blue slopes await you, including a 1150 vertical descent into the Rougemont town.
Throughout the season, 60% of snow falls across the mountain to offer superb skiing conditions across their facilities. When you’re not gliding across the pistes of Gstaad, be sure to explore the three snow parks that are dotted on the mountain. Each day when you have finished your fun on the ski slopes, you will be welcomed by the warm apres-ski scene. Indulge in their gourmet restaurants and overlook the magnificent views of the mountains from the sunny terraces.
When you visit the mountain village, you’ll discover quickly why it is so loved. Setting the scene for a romantic winter getaway, the mountain village is overlooked by a picturesque castle. When you’re not challenging your ski skills on the slopes, you can explore this quaint village that is car-free and lined with an array of fashionable shops and boutiques.
