The gallery occupies the entire first and second floors of one of the cities most prominent 16th century buildings, a museum commissioned by Cosimo l de’Medici, designed by Giorgio Vasari and constructed between 1560 and 1580. The Uffizi Gallery has drawn visitors from all over the world to view the vast collection of Primitive & Renaissance paintings and masterpieces.
