Set out on a full-day adventure that brings together the very best of the Southern Alps; with a private helicopter tour, a guided hike, jet boat thrills and a gourmet lunch, all wrapped into one unforgettable journey. Your day begins with a morning pick-up from your accommodation, settling into a luxury vehicle with your personal driver-guide as you follow the lakeside road towards Glenorchy. The morning light over Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding peaks offers plenty of chances to stop for photographs.
From Glenorchy, you’ll lift off on a spectacular helicopter flight, tracing the gleaming waters of the lake and the dramatic contours of the Dart and Rees Valleys. Landing in the remote Earnslaw Burn, you’ll explore this remarkable alpine basin on foot. Your private guide will lead you through untouched native terrain towards towering waterfalls and glacier-carved cliffs, sharing stories of the region’s history, wildlife and unique flora as you make your way deeper into Mount Aspiring National Park.
Your helicopter then returns to collect you for a short hop into the Paradise Basin, touching down on the riverbank of the Dart River. Here, your private jet boat awaits. This exhilarating ride takes you through braided, glacier-fed channels surrounded by some of New Zealand’s most dramatic wilderness, with your guide weaving in local legends and Maori stories.
Back in Glenorchy, you’ll enjoy a well-earned lunch at Miss Woolly’s before a relaxed drive to Queenstown brings your seven-hour experience to a close, a day available from September to May and designed for those seeking a truly exceptional private adventure.
