Step behind the glass on this immersive 1-hour experience of the National Kiwi Hatchery. 'Operation Nest Egg', the hatching facility’s kiwi recovery programme, utilises unique incubation and hatching technology to help accelerate conservation efforts for the country’s national animal. Join the expert husbandry team in their staff-only area to witness how the chicks are cared for and learn about the incubation and chick rearing techniques used in their rehabilitation. Afterwards, discover a Nocturnal House where you’ll have the opportunity to see the kiwi roam about in a more natural environment. Then finish off the tour with an audio-visual element to cap off your kiwi-learning mini adventure.
