Head north to the Daintree Rainforest, a protected reserve of towering trees, waterfalls and rock pools that dates back 100 million years. Or, head east to the one and only Great Barrier Reef, where snorkelling with marine life and boat tours are the order of the day. Even closer to home are the powdery beaches in and around Port Douglas, as well as an array of dining haunts to try out.
