In the summertime, you'll be able to cool off in the covered courtyard with a classic cocktail.

The property itself gives you a taste of historic Madrid, siting in a prestigious location on the tree-lined Paseo de la Castellana. This beautiful grand boulevard has an incredible number of attractions and, although Madrid is the capital of Spain, it remains laid back and relaxed. At Rosewood Villa Magna, you’re close to museums, boutique stores and Michelin restaurants, with mouthwatering tapas in walking distance.

The hotel has 154 guest rooms and suites that have all been updated with a contemporary and upscale feel. Dream away on comfortable beds that you’ll never want to leave. You can expect a range of in-room amenities, including Nespresso machines to start your day off just right and Maison Caulieres bathroom products. At the very top of the hotel are two luxury signature suites with sprawling terraces for breathtaking views across the city, plus there are plenty of beautifully manicures outdoor areas to unwind in across the property.

Restaurants and eateries on the property are sure to catch your eye. Try out Flor y Nata for delectable afternoon tea, light bites and pâtisserie. For main meals, you’ll want to follow your nose to the elegant all-day restaurant, Las Brasas De Castellana – here, you can taste delicious locally produced and seasonal dishes. During your stay, don’t forget to visit Amós and Chef Jesús Sánchez, who holds three Michelin stars for a taste of northern Spain and the Cantabrian Sea.

After spending some time adventuring in the city, why not wind down in the spa? Sense Spa is all about focusing on your wellness and wellbeing. Immerse yourself in various ancient Spanish treatments with influences from its Berber history. The Sense Spa at Rosewood Villa Magna competes with some of the best spas in Europe.

The hotel is positioned in the Salamanca district, an upscale area of Madrid. Visit Gran Vía, Madrid’s most famous street, lined with boutique shops, theatres and gorgeous early 20th century buildings.

Head to Prado National Museum, Reina Sofía Museum, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum & Sorolla Museum or the Royal Palace, Europe’s largest royal palace, for an educational day out in the city.

Madrid’s locals are welcoming, and the feel of the city is very laid back, so enjoy the time people-watching at Puerta del Sol, a public square and the city’s hub. Cut through to the Plaza Mayor, a magnificent square that dates back more than 400 years and sample delicious tapas for an authentic Spanish experience in the indoor market.

For a bit of nature and science in Madrid, you’ll enjoy Retiro Park and the Royal Botanic Gardens, founded in the 18th century; look out for the elm tree known as Pantalones, whose trunk looks like a pair of trousers!

You can also head to the observation deck at the CentroCentro cultural centre in the former post office in Plaza de Cibeles for a 360-degree view of Madrid.
