Both thrilling and educational, this 2.5-hour mesmerising experience begins with a relaxing 30-minute stroll through Mount Cook National Park – followed by a cruise aboard the Glacier Express. During your journey on the lake, you’ll witness the ever-changing Tasman Glacier icebergs. These bright blue icebergs vary in shape and size, with the lateral remains reminding us of the grand scale the glacier has reached in previous times. If you’re lucky enough, you may even experience a calving. After spending 1.15-hour cruising around the lake and learning about the effects of climate change on New Zealand’s glaciers, you’ll return to Mount Cook Village or your accommodation.
