Experience colourful Kathakali dances, head to the tea growing region and hill station of Munnar, enjoy the thrill of spotting rare wildlife at the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and then explore the beautiful backwaters on a rice barge. Round off your trip with a stay on one of the famous beaches and indulge in some serious relaxation while experiencing the healing benefits of Ayurveda.

Itinerary

Depart from home and fly into Cochin.
On arrival in Cochin, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel and assisted with check in. Enjoy a day of complete relaxation taking in the diversity of a multi-cultural town. Cochin has been influenced by the Chinese, French and the Portugese and you will find a wonderful mix of cultures. The area of Fort Cochin is excellent to enjoy leisurely walks and explore the city on foot. In the evening we could take you on a harbour cruise along one of the finest natural harbo
After breakfast you will head out to enjoy a half day sight seeing tour of Cochin. A stop at the Chinese fishing nets is a must, set along the sea-front it is very picturesque area and interesting to visit. For a more cultural insight you can go for evening performance of the classical dance drama, Kathakali, known for the attractive make up of the characters and elaborate costumes.
Munnar
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before driving up to Munnar. Tucked away in sunny, tropical Kerala is a cool green paradise, hidden away from heat and dust amidst the state’s finest tea plantations is Munnar. Set at an altitude of 6000 ft, Munnar is breathtakingly beautiful haven of peace and tranquillity and is undoubtedly one of the most wonderful hill stations of South India. On arrival you will check in at your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
After breakfast you will visit a local Tea Factory which is interesting and you can also meet a few tea pickers busy picking the tea leaves before you enjoy a guided walk through the Tea Plantations.
Thekkady
After breakfast, you will be driven to Thekkady as the road winds through tranquil countryside, rich plantations and thick jungles. Thekkady (Idukki district) is the location of the Periyar National Park, which is one of the most important tourist attractions in the Kerala. The attractions are Periyar where (if your are lucky) you will see herds of wild elephants, that come down to play in the lake. After breakfast you will drive to Kumarakom, to the heart of the beautiful backwaters and lagoons. The area is inter-linked with hundreds of winding canals, and typical low slung country boats that carry everything from people to fish, rice and coconuts to the milkman and newspaper boy. On arrival, you will check-in at your hotel and spend rest of the day relaxing.
You can enjoy today relaxing at your lovely hotel or explore the village close by. If you are fond of bird life then you can also go for a visit to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary .
Today you will enjoy the backwaters on your very own private boat. After breakfast you will board your houseboat around 12 and cruise through the beautiful maze of backwaters. These house boats are available in one or two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and come with a kitchenette, an open lounge, deck and a three crew member team- the oarsmen, a cook and guide. All meals will be served on board the house-boat.
Mararikulam
After breakfast you will disembark and head North to Mararikulam, located close to the backwaters and Cochin. Marari has a long stretch of beach and there are plenty of activities you can do around here. It is close to a small fishing village and has a lovely beach to relax. The Marari Beach Resort also has a good Ayurveda centre. On arrival you will check into the hotel stay for three nights.
