Botswana is home to some of the most unforgettable landscapes in the world.
On this tour you can view them in style, staying in Belmond’s three Botswana safari lodges – Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge, Belmond Khwai River Lodge and Belmond Eagle Island Lodge. On this holiday you will experience luxury accommodation, spectacular scenery, exciting safari drives and amazing wildlife.
Itinerary
Day 2 Kasane – Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge
Today you will transfer from Kasane to Chobe National Park and check into your first Belmond lodge. The Savute Elephant Camp is the ideal place to start your exploration of Botswana; set within the national park, the lodge is made up of 12 Luxury Tented Rooms with private decks where guests can relax and watch the neighbouring wildlife.
Day 3 Chobe National Park
Today you have a full day at the park, where you will enjoy two safari drives. Chobe was Botswana’s first national park and enjoys a reputation as one of the premier wildlife destinations, with Africa’s largest herds of elephants. The park is home to an impressive diversity of wildlife, including populations of the ‘Big Five’ safari animals (elephant, lion, cheetah, buffalo and rhino) along with hyenas, antelopes and over 500 species of bird.
Day 4 Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge – Belmond Khwai River Lodge
Today move on to your second Belmond lodge – the Khwai River Lodge. Overlooking the Khwai River’s floodplains and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, the lodge is nestled in beautiful surroundings on its own private concession and affords visitors easy access to more fantastic wildlife experiences. All 14 of the Luxury Tented Rooms are raised on platforms with a hammock and chairs – the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset with a drink in hand.
Day 5 Khwai River
Today you will explore the area around the lodge and the Moremi Game Reserve. Morning and afternoon safari drives are available, or you may choose to relax and soak in the atmosphere at the lodge. Your Travel Specialist can recommend activities for you today, from basket-weaving to wildlife-spotting adventures. For those looking for wildlife encounters, the Moremi Game Reserve is an excellent choice; spread over 5,000 square kilometres, the area is home to a huge variety of wildlife.
Day 6 Belmond Khwai River Lodge – Belmond Eagle Island Lodge
Transfer by light aircraft to your third and final plush Belmond accommodation. The Eagle Island Lodge is located on a private island within the Okavango Delta, a desert oasis. The lodge is made up of 12 Deluxe Tented Rooms which each benefit from their own rim flow pool, indoor and outdoor showers and raised decks. The lodge offers outstanding water-based safari activities, including motorboat and mokoro canoe trips.
Day 7 Okavango Delta
Enjoy some of the excellent safari options on offer at the lodge, or simply take advantage of the relaxing surroundings in your own private pool. The delta is a haven for wildlife, and on one of the various safari trips you’ll likely spot a wide range of African mammals, birds and even fish. For an extra special experience, your Travel Specialist can arrange a helicopter safari, which offers sweeping views of the delta and its resident wildlife – a truly unforgettable experience.
