From the Winelands to Cape Town, you'll combine the best of Test match cricket with exceptional hospitality, luxurious accommodation and a series of exclusive events that make this tour a bucket-list trip for any discerning cricket fan.

Beginning with a pre-cricket stay in the famous Cape Winelands, you'll stay at the elegant Lanzerac Hotel & Spa, sampling the best of South Africa's wines with a private, hosted vineyard tour and plenty of time to soak in the beautiful scenery of this famous wine region. It's here you'll also ring in the New Year with cricketing royalty, as you join Mike Gatting for celebrations at our New Year's Eve Gala Dinner in the heart of Stellenbosch.

Looking forward to the week's cricket, you'll transfer to Cape Town, staying at the InterContinental Table Bay on the lively V&A Waterfront. Just 25 minutes away, you'll be transferred to Newlands Cricket Ground for the next five days to experience cricket at its most picturesque. From your premium Grandstand seating, you'll have exceptional open-air views of the action for England's Cape Town Test against South Africa, with Table Mountain rising behind the ground – one of cricket's most iconic views!

Not only will you watch the cricket unfold with Mike by your side, but you'll also be invited to our signature State of Play event on day two, where the former Ashes winner will be joined by special cricket guests to share his expert insights on the action so far.

There's so much to experience in Cape Town, so should the cricket be cut short by an early England victory, you can rest assured we'll adapt your tour to fit in some extra sightseeing, cultural discoveries or bucket-list experiences. Think trips to Boulders Beach to walk with penguins, scenic tours up to Table Mountain, or even day trips to explore more of the Winelands.

Itinerary

Touch down in Cape Town, where you’ll be met on arrival and fast-tracked through immigration, baggage collection and customs. From here, a private transfer will take you into the heart of the Winelands and on to Lanzerac Hotel & Spa in Stellenbosch. This evening, settle in with fellow tour guests over welcome drinks, joined by your celebrity host, Mike Gatting, as your tour begins to take shape.

Wake up to mountain and vineyard views before spending the day at leisure exploring the Cape Winelands. After the day's activities, you'll be invited to our New Year's Eve Gala Dinner at the Lanzerac Hotel, where you can ring in the new year with Mike Gatting and your fellow travellers, with complimentary gourmet cuisine and premium beverages.

On New Year's Day, join Mike Gatting for a private wine tour through the renowned vineyards of Franschhoek, the birthplace of Pinotage. Sample the finest vintages that the Cape Winelands has to offer with exclusive access to some of the region's most sought-after wine estates.

Follow the cricket fever to Cape Town and transfer to the InterContinental Table Bay Cape Town on the V&A Waterfront, where you'll spend the next six nights on a bed and breakfast basis. In the evening, you'll be invited to join your celebrity host for welcome drinks, cricket chat and a look forward to tomorrow's Test.

Day 5-9 | 3-7 January | South Africa v England

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before transferring to Newlands Cricket Ground for five days of South Africa vs England action in Cape Town. Take your seat in premium Grandstand seating, offering excellent views of the match and the iconic Table Mountain beyond. If you'd prefer to watch all the action with Ex-England Captain Mike Gatting, upgrade to our hospitality package. After play concludes on day two, you'll be invited to attend our signature State of Play event hosted by Mike Gatting and joined by special cricketing guests for an informal look back at the match so far. On the final evening, after the cricket has drawn to a close, join Mike and your fellow travellers for a memorable farewell dinner as you bid South Africa goodbye in the best company.

Today, you'll be transferred to the airport for your flight home. If you'd prefer to extend your time in South Africa to spot the Big Five on a luxury safari, follow the Garden Route and explore more of the Cape Winelands, or follow the ODI series in Paarl and Bloemfontein, our Travel Specialists will tailor any extension to suit exactly how you’d like to round off your time in the Rainbow Nation.
