Either as a destination in its own right, or twinned with mainland Vietnam or nearby Thailand or Cambodia, Phu Quoc island is an unspoilt piece of paradise boasting a stunning collection of beaches and top hotels.
Set in the Gulf of Thailand, south of Cambodia and west of Vietnam, Phu Quoc is an island in the Phu Quoc district, which is made up of some 28 islands, most of which are uninhabited.
The main island is a tropical paradise just a 50-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City. Its stunning natural environment is home to a National Park, and protected marine reserve, with plenty of activities to help you explore the wildlife, from snorkelling to guided excursions.
A year-round destination, the preferred time to visit is between November and March when the dry season brings long sunny days; perfect for a winter break to escape the British cold in favour of the island’s 20 white sand beaches.
